Last year we sought the views of the general public (Through what is termed an “Omnibus survey”) and through a face to face survey with visitors on ship. We wanted to find out how much they knew about the ship and their experiences on board. Highlights of this study, undertaken independently by Millward Brown Ulster, include:
(1,000 people selected to represent the Northern Ireland adult population across 45 locations)
- Just under 40% of respondents had heard of Nomadic
- 30% felt they would be likely to visit the Nomadic at least once a year in its current state. This increased to 51% likely to visit at least once a year once Nomadic is restored
- 17% felt they would visit Nomadic but less than once a year
- Desired facilities on board included a Titanic exhibit (59%), a guided tour (55%), a restaurant / café (53%), interactive facilities (52%) and a souvenir shop (38%)
(116 people selected whilst visiting Nomadic)
- 86% of respondents were visiting Nomadic for the first time, with 14% repeat visitors
- 72% said they were either “likely” or “very likely” to visit Nomadic again, unconditional of any restoration works being undertaken
- 93% said they were either “fairly likely” or “very likely” to recommend others to visit Nomadic
- 53% said that Nomadic had met their expectations, with a further 40% claiming that is exceeded their expectations
- Out of a range of 1-10, the average rating of visitors to the Nomadic was 7.96
- 71% said that the Nomadic was equally as good as other ships they had visited in its current state
- Desired facilities on board included a Titanic exhibit (70%), interactive facilities (62%), a guided tour (56%) and a restaurant/café (55%)
- 92% felt that the £5 entrance fee represented good value for money
